Prepping for Classic Coat

General demands for well done applications of Classic Coat include the following processes:

• Always wash the vinyl or leather substrate first. We suggest the matching product SEM Soap, applied with a gray scratch pad. Dimpled and textured areas often call for unique attention. Rinse the soap off with a moist, fresh, and lint-free towel. Let the surface dry.
• After cleaning with SEM Soap prepare the surface by using SEM Vinyl Prep for vinyl, or SEM Plastic and Leather Prep for leather. You can also use SEM XXX Universal Surface Cleaner for either vinyl or leather surfaces. Make certain that the substrate is absolutely clean. Repeat the cleaning as needed to guarantee an appropriate adhesion of Classic Coat.
• For leather surfaces only, once the upholstery is dry after washing, the leather should be scuffed with a clean gray scuff pad or 400-600 grit sandpaper. After scuffing, it is necessary to clean leather surfaces again with SEM Plastic and Leather Prep or XXX Universal Surface Cleaner.
• Classic Coat can be shelved for three years if stored in a dry, cool place with good ventilation. Avoid sparks, heat, and flames wherever you apply and store Classic Coat.
