SEM Classic Coat™ in Medium Graphite (SEM SKU 17043) is easily used to renew or change the color of vinyl and leather upholstery. Due to superb adhesive properties, Classic Coat does not chip or peel when applied correctly. It provides a flexible overlay that holds up to the challenge or constant and long-term use. Classic Coat is shipped in simple to use aerosol cans, eliminating the possibility of spills and mess during usage.  These professional spray cans offer either a horizontal or vertical spray, as favored by the user. When preparation is finished accurately, Classic Coat is very long lasting and ready to use within 24 hours. Classic Coat is available in over thirty OEM colors, including color equivalents for popular manufacturers like BMW, Toyota, Honda, Acura, Ford, Chrysler, and GM.

Prepping for Classic Coat

General conditions for successful applications of Classic Coat include the following steps:

• Always cleanse the leather or vinyl substrate first. We recommend the matching product SEM Soap, applied with a gray scratch pad. Dimpled and textured areas always necessitate unique attention. Rinse the soap off with a clean moist and lint-free towel. Let the surface dry.
• Follow up the washing with SEM Soap by using SEM Vinyl Prep for vinyl, or SEM Plastic and Leather Prep for leather. You can also use SEM XXX Universal Surface Cleaner for either vinyl or leather substrates. Make certain that the surface is thoroughly clean. Repeat the cleansing as necessary to ensure a solid bond of Classic Coat.
• For leather surfaces only, once the upholstery is dry after cleansing, the leather requires scuffing with a clean gray scuff pad or 400-600 grit sandpaper. After scuffing, clean leather substrates once more with SEM Plastic and Leather Prep or XXX Universal Surface Cleaner.
• Classic Coat can be stored for three years if stored in a dry, cool area with adequate ventilation. Avoid sparks, flames, and heat wherever you apply and store Classic Coat.
