Preparing for Classic Coat

General conditions for promising applications of Classic Coat include the following methods:

• Always clean the vinyl or leather substrate first. We suggest the matching product SEM Soap, applied with a gray scratch pad. Textured and dimpled areas always require specialized attention. Rinse the soap off with a moist, fresh, and lint-free towel. Let the substrate dry.
• Follow the washing with SEM Soap with SEM Vinyl Prep for vinyl, or SEM Plastic and Leather Prep for leather. You can also use SEM XXX Universal Surface Cleaner for either vinyl or leather surfaces. Make sure that the surface is completely clean. Repeat the washing as needed to ensure a strong bond of Classic Coat.
• For leather substrates only, once the upholstery is dry after cleaning, the leather should be scuffed with a clean gray scratch pad or 400-600 grit sandpaper. After scuffing, clean the leather substrates once more with SEM Plastic and Leather Prep or XXX Universal Surface Cleaner.
• Classic Coat can be kept for 3 years if shelved in a dry, cool location with adequate ventilation. Avoid sparks, heat, and flames wherever you use and keep Classic Coat.
