SEM Classic Coat™ in Medium Gray (SEM SKU 17173) is simply used to restore or change the color of leather and vinyl upholstery. Classic Coat is available in convenient aerosol cans, dismissing the possibility of spills and mess during work.  These top-of-the-line spray cans offer either a vertical or horizontal spray, as selected by the user. When preparation is finished accurately, Classic Coat is very permanent and ready to use within 24 hours. Classic Coat is available in over thirty OEM colors, including color coordinates for popular manufacturers like BMW, Toyota, Honda, Acura, Ford, Chrysler, and GM.

Prepping for Classic Coat

General demands for successful applications of Classic Coat include the following procedures:

• Always cleanse the leather or vinyl surface first. We recommend the matching product SEM Soap, applied with a gray scuff pad. Recessed and textured areas usually warrant special attention. Rinse the soap off with a fresh, moist, and lint-free towel. Allow the substrate to dry.
• Follow up the cleaning with SEM Soap by using SEM Vinyl Prep for vinyl, or SEM Plastic and Leather Prep for leather. You can also use SEM XXX Universal Surface Cleaner for either vinyl or leather surfaces. Make sure that the surface is thoroughly clean. Repeat the washing as required to guarantee a good bond of Classic Coat.
• For leather substrates only, once the upholstery is dry after cleaning, the leather needs to be scuffed with a clean gray scuff pad or 400-600 grit sandpaper. After scuffing, clean the leather substrates again with SEM Plastic and Leather Prep or XXX Universal Surface Cleaner.
• Classic Coat can be stored for three years if stored in a dry, cool location with good ventilation. Avoid sparks, flames, and heat wherever you use and store Classic Coat.
