Preparing for Classic Coat

General requirements for promising applications of Classic Coat include the following steps:

• Always wash the leather or vinyl substrate first. We suggest the matching product SEM Soap, applied with a gray scuff pad. Dimpled and textured areas invariably require special attention. Rinse the soap off with a damp, fresh, and lint-free towel. Permit the surface to dry.
• Follow up the cleaning with SEM Soap by applying SEM Vinyl Prep for vinyl, or SEM Plastic and Leather Prep for leather. You can also use SEM XXX Universal Surface Cleaner for either vinyl or leather surfaces. Make sure that the substrate is entirely clean. Repeat the cleaning as necessary to guarantee a strong adhesion of Classic Coat.
• For leather surfaces only, once the upholstery is dry after cleaning, the leather should be scuffed with a clean gray scratch pad or 400-600 grit sandpaper. After scuffing, clean the leather substrates once more with SEM Plastic and Leather Prep or XXX Universal Surface Cleaner.
• Classic Coat can be shelved for 3 years if shelved in a cool, dry place with good ventilation. Avoid flames, sparks, and heat wherever you use and keep Classic Coat.
