Prepping for Classic Coat

General necessities for well done applications of Classic Coat include the following processes:

• Always clean the leather or vinyl substrate first. We suggest the matching product SEM Soap, applied with a gray scratch pad. Dimpled and textured areas often warrant special attention. Rinse the soap off with a moist fresh and lint-free towel. Let the surface dry.
• Follow up the washing with SEM Soap by using SEM Vinyl Prep for vinyl, or SEM Plastic and Leather Prep for leather. You can also use SEM XXX Universal Surface Cleaner for either leather or vinyl substrates. Make sure that the surface is thoroughly clean. Repeat the washing as necessary to guarantee a good adhesion of Classic Coat.
• For leather substrates only, once the upholstery is dry after cleaning, the leather needs to be scuffed with a clean gray scuff pad or 400-600 grit sandpaper. After scuffing, it clean the leather substrates again with SEM Plastic and Leather Prep or XXX Universal Surface Cleaner.
• Classic Coat can be stored for 3 years if stored in a dry, cool location with adequate ventilation. Avoid sparks, flames, and heat wherever you use and store Classic Coat.
