Important Considerations for Applying Aerosol Color Coat in Medium Neutral
- Because Aerosol Color Coat is a coating, as its name suggests, and not a dye, it is not recommended for significantly different color changes.
- Aerosol Color Coat dries quickly but should not be subject to or heavy use until 24 hours after applying.
- Aerosol Color Coat is made prepped for spraying.
- Vinyls can have large amounts of plasticizers. If so, for a smooth surface they need SEM Tac Free.
- For mixed colors, try our line of SEM Color Coat in a one quart cone top, and a one gallon can.
How to Prep for Aerosol Color Coat in Medium Neutral
- For plastic and vinyl, always use SEM Soap to clean the substrate by using a grey scruff pad.
- For velour and carpet, clean the surface using an appropriate carpet or upholstery cleaner.
- Clean vinyl again with XXX Universal Surface Cleaner or Vinyl Prep.
- Clean plastic once more with Plastic & Leather Prep or XXX Universal Surface Cleaner.
- Clean carpet and velour again with Plastic and Leather Prep.
- To encourage adhesion on PVC and ABS plastics, SEM offers Sand Free Adhesion Promoter. For TPO, PP, EPDM and other thermoplastics, use Plastic Adhesion Promoter or XXX Adhesion Promoter.
- Always follow the instructions for applying each of these products to ensure professional results.
