When preparation is completed correctly, Classic Coat is very permanent and ready to use within 24 hours. Preparing for Classic Coat

General requisites for well-done applications of Classic Coat include the following processes:

• Always cleanse the leather or vinyl substrate first. We recommend the corresponding product SEM Soap, applied with a gray scratch pad. Textured and recessed areas often need special attention. Rinse the soap off with a clean, moist, and lint-free towel. Permit the surface to dry.
• After cleaning with SEM Soap, prep the surface by using SEM Vinyl Prep for vinyl, or SEM Plastic and Leather Prep for leather. You can also use SEM XXX Universal Surface Cleaner for either leather or vinyl substrates. Make certain that the surface is completely clean. Repeat the cleaning as necessary to guarantee a proper adhesion of Classic Coat.
• For leather substrates only, once the upholstery is dry after cleaning, the leather needs to be scuffed with a clean gray scuff pad or 400-600 grit sandpaper. After scuffing, clean leather surfaces again with SEM Plastic and Leather Prep or XXX Universal Surface Cleaner.
• Classic Coat can be shelved for three years if shelved in a dry, cool place with adequate ventilation. Avoid heat, sparks, and flames wherever you apply and keep Classic Coat.
