Description

SEM Classic Coat™ in Light Grey (SEM SKU 17123) is simply used to renew or change the color of vinyl and leather upholstery. Due to excellent adhesive properties, Classic Coat does not peel or chip when applied correctly. It provides a flexible coat that resists the challenges of continual and lasting use. Available in OEM colors, Classic Coat is an important tool for any restoration or automotive upholstery specialist.

Classic Coat is available in convenient aerosol cans, dismissing the possibility of spills and mess during work.  These high-quality spray cans offer either a vertical or horizontal spray, as chosen by the user. When preparation is done accurately, Classic Coat is very long lasting and ready to use within twenty-four hours. Classic Coat is manufactured in over thirty OEM colors, including color matches for popular manufacturers like Toyota, Honda, Chrysler, Ford, BMW, and Acura.

Preparing for Classic Coat

General requisites for well-done applications of Classic Coat include the following processes:

• Always cleanse the vinyl or leather substrate first. We suggest the corresponding product SEM Soap, applied with a gray scuff pad. Textured and recessed areas require special attention. Rinse the soap off with a moist, fresh, and lint-free towel. Permit the substrate to dry.
• Follow the cleaning with SEM Soap by applying SEM Vinyl Prep for vinyl, or SEM Plastic and Leather Prep for leather. You can also use SEM XXX Universal Surface Cleaner for either vinyl or leather surfaces. Make sure that the substrate is thoroughly clean. Repeat the cleaning as needed to ensure a good bond of Classic Coat.
• For leather surfaces only, once the upholstery is dry after washing, the leather should be scuffed with a clean gray scratch pad or 400-600 grit sandpaper. After scuffing, clean leather substrates once more with SEM Plastic and Leather Prep or XXX Universal Surface Cleaner.
• Classic Coat can be stored for 3 years if shelved in a cool, dry area with proper ventilation. Avoid sparks, heat, and flames wherever you use and store Classic Coat.
