Prepping for Classic Coat

General necessities for successful applications of Classic Coat include the following techniques:

• Always cleanse the leather or vinyl surface first. We recommend the comparable product SEM Soap, applied with a gray scratch pad. Textured and dimpled areas always need specialized attention. Rinse the soap off with a fresh damp and lint-free towel. Permit the substrate to dry.
• Follow the cleaning with SEM Soap by using SEM Vinyl Prep for vinyl, or SEM Plastic and Leather Prep for leather. You can also use SEM XXX Universal Surface Cleaner for either leather or vinyl substrates. Make sure that the substrate is thoroughly clean. Repeat the washing as required to guarantee a solid bond of Classic Coat.
• For leather surfaces only, once the upholstery is dry after cleansing, the leather should be scuffed with a clean gray scratch pad or 400-600 grit sandpaper. After scuffing, it is necessary to clean leather surfaces again with SEM Plastic and Leather Prep or XXX Universal Surface Cleaner.
• Classic Coat can be shelved for three years if kept in a cool, dry area with adequate ventilation. Avoid heat, sparks, and flames wherever you use and store Classic Coat.
