Considerations for Using Color Coat in Silver Metallic
- Color Coat isn’t a dye and shouldn’t be used for drastic color changes.
- Color Coat is quick drying but should not be subjected to heavy use or scraping for twenty-four hours after application.
- Color Coat is ready to spray, right out of the can.
- Color Coat Flattener may be used with any and all Color Coat intermix formulas.
- Vinyls with high amounts of plasticizers might need SEM Tac Free for a smooth finish.
Preparing Surfaces for Application of Color Coat in Silver Metallic
- For vinyl and plastic, always apply SEM Soap to clean the surface with a grey scrubber.
- For velour and carpet, clean the substrate with an appropriate upholstery or carpet cleaner.
- Clean vinyl once more with XXX Universal Surface Cleaner or Vinyl Prep.
- Clean plastic once more with Plastic & Leather Prep or XXX Universal Surface Cleaner.
- Clean velour and carpet once more with Plastic and Leather Prep.
- To guarantee adhesion on ABS or PVC plastics, SEM provides Sand Free Adhesion Promoter. For EPDM, PP, TPO and other thermoplastics, use XXX Adhesion Promoter or Plastic Adhesion Promoter.
