OEM recommended, Color Coat provides 50 different colors and 2 different clear coats that may also be mixed to allow thousands of OEM color options in matched formulas. Color Coat in Silver Metallic is sold in two different cans: a one-quart cone top and a one gallon can. Considerations for Using Color Coat in Silver Metallic
- Color Coat isn’t a dye so should not be used for significantly different color changes.
- Color Coat is quick drying but should not be subjected to heavy use or abrasion for 24 hours after applying.
- Color Coat is prepped to spray, right out of the can.
- Color Coat Flattener may be applied with any and all Color Coat intermix formulas.
- Vinyls with high amounts of plasticizers may need SEM Tac Free for a smooth finish.
Preparing Substrates for Application of Color Coat in Silver Metallic
- For vinyl and plastic, always use SEM Soap to clean the surface by using a grey scrubber.
- For carpet and velour, clean the surface by using an appropriate carpet or upholstery cleanser.
- Clean vinyl again with Vinyl Prep or XXX Universal Surface Cleaner.
- Clean plastic once more with Plastic & Leather Prep or XXX Universal Surface Cleaner.
- Clean carpet and velour again with Plastic and Leather Prep.
- To encourage adhesion on PVC and ABS plastics, SEM provides Sand Free Adhesion Promoter. For PP, EPDM, TPO and other thermoplastics, use Plastic Adhesion Promoter or XXX Adhesion Promoter.
- Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for applying each of these products to guarantee best results.
