Use Color Coat™in Satin Gloss when you need a flexible, fade-resistant, and permanent coating that renews or changes the color of vinyl, plastic, carpet, and velour. OEM recommended, Color Coat is available in a variety of colors and three different clear coats that may also be mixed to offer thousands of OEM color choices in matched formulas. Color Coat in Satin Gloss is shipped in 4 different types of cans: one gallon, 1 quart cone top, 16 oz cone top, and 8 oz cone top. Color Coat’s unmatched quality lets you refinish auto interiors, and its durability even lets you apply Color Coat to motorcycle seats. Considerations for Applying Color Coat in Satin Gloss

  • Color Coat isn’t a dye, but it still shouldn’t be applied for drastic color changes.
  • Color Coat is quick drying but should not be subject to heavy use or scraping for twenty-four hours after applying.
  • Color Coat is prepped to apply right out from the can.
  • Color Coat Flattener may be used with all Color Coat intermix formulas.
  • Vinyls with large amounts of plasticizers can require SEM Tac Free for a smooth surface.

Prepping Substrates for Application of Color Coat in Satin Gloss

  • For plastic and vinyl, always apply SEM Soap to clean the surface using a grey scrubber.
  • For carpet and velour, clean the surface with an appropriate upholstery or carpet cleaner
  • Clean vinyl again with XXX Universal Surface Cleaner or Vinyl Prep.
  • Clean plastic once more with XXX Universal Surface Cleaner or Plastic & Leather Prep.
  • Clean velour and carpet once more with Plastic and Leather Prep.
  • To encourage adhesion on PVC and ABS plastics, SEM provides Sand Free Adhesion Promoter. For TPO, EPDM, PP and other thermoplastics, use XXX Adhesion Promoter or Plastic Adhesion Promoter.
