Color Coat™ in Light Buckskin
Color Coat™ is a UV-resistant, mixable, permanent coating to restore or change the color of most vinyl, plastic, velour, and carpet. Color Coat Light Buckskin comes in four different cans: one gallon or 8 oz, 16 oz or 1 pint cone top. Color Coat is OEM suggested and manufactured with a variety of colors, three different clear coats and 1000s of OEM mixing formulas. Revitalize vehicle interiors and even motorcycle seats by using Color Coat. If you need flexibility for refinishing faded or damaged vehicle exteriors or interiors, select Color Coat by SEM!
Important Facts About Color Coat in Light Buckskin
- Even though Color Coat is a coating, as its name suggests, and not a dye, it is not recommended for distinctly different color changes.
- Color Coat dries quickly but shouldn’t be subject to abrasion or heavy use until twenty-four hours after application.
- There is no need to thin Color Coat. It is made prepped to apply.
- Vinyls can have excess amounts of plasticizers. If so, for a smooth surface they require SEM Tac Free.
- Color Coat Flattener may be used with any Color Coat intermix formulas to guarantee a closer match with the original color.
How to Prepare for Color Coat in Light Buckskin
- For vinyl and plastic, always apply SEM Soap to clean the substrate with a grey scruff pad.
- For velour and carpet, clean the surface by using an appropriate upholstery or carpet cleanser
- Clean vinyl again with XXX Universal Surface Cleaner or Vinyl Prep.
- Clean plastic once more with Plastic & Leather Prep or XXX Universal Surface Cleaner.
- Clean carpet and velour once more with Plastic and Leather Prep.
- To guarantee adhesion on PVC and ABS plastics, SEM provides Sand Free Adhesion Promoter. For PP, EPDM, TPO and other thermoplastics, use XXX Adhesion Promoter or Plastic Adhesion Promoter.
