Important Facts About Color Coat in Satin Gloss

• Color Coat is not a dye, but it still should not be applied for significantly different color changes.
• Color Coat is fast drying, but shouldn’t be subjected to heavy use or abrasion for twenty-four hours after application.
• Color Coat is prepped to use right from the can.
• Color Coat Flattener can be applied with any Color Coat intermix formulas.
• Vinyls with excess amounts of plasticizers might need SEM Tac Free for a smooth finish.

How to Prepare for Color Coat in Satin Gloss

• For plastic and vinyl, always apply SEM Soap to clean the substrate with a grey scruff pad.
• For carpet and velour, clean the surface by using an appropriate carpet or upholstery cleanser
• Clean vinyl again with XXX Universal Surface Cleaner or Vinyl Prep.
• Clean plastic again with XXX Universal Surface Cleaner or Plastic & Leather Prep.
• Clean velour and carpet once more with Plastic and Leather Prep.
• To promote adhesion on ABS and PVC plastics, SEM offers Sand Free Adhesion Promoter. For PP, TPO, EPDM and other thermoplastics, use Plastic Adhesion Promoter or XXX Adhesion Promoter.
