Considerations for Using Color Coat in High Gloss Clear

• Color Coat is not a dye, so it shouldn’t be used for distinctly different color changes.
• Color Coat is quick drying but shouldn’t be subjected to heavy use or scraping for 24 hours after applying.
• Color Coat is prepped to spray right out of the can.
• Color Coat Flattener may be used with all Color Coat intermix formulas.
• Vinyls with excessive amounts of plasticizers will need SEM Tac Free for a smooth finish.

Preparing Substrates for Application with Color Coat in High Gloss Clear

• For plastic and vinyl, always use SEM Soap to clean the surface with a grey scrubber.
• For velour and carpet, clean the surface by using an appropriate upholstery or carpet cleanser.
• Clean vinyl again with Vinyl Prep or XXX Universal Surface Cleaner.
• Clean plastic again with XXX Universal Surface Cleaner or Plastic & Leather Prep.
• Clean velour and carpet once more with Plastic and Leather Prep.
• To encourage adhesion on ABS or PVC plastics, use SEM Sand Free Adhesion Promoter. For EPDM, TPO, PP and other thermoplastics, use XXX Adhesion Promoter or Plastic Adhesion Promoter.
• Always follow the directions for applying each of these products to ensure a professional outcome.
