Facts About Aerosol Color Coat in High Gloss Clear
- Even though Aerosol Color Coat is a coating, as its name suggests, and not a dye, it is not recommended for distinctly different color changes.
- Aerosol Color Coat dries quickly but should not be subject to heavy use until 24 hours after applying.
- Aerosol Color Coat is made prepped for spraying.
- Vinyls can have excess amounts of plasticizers. If so, for a smooth surface they require SEM Tac Free.
- For matched colors, consider our line of SEM Color Coat in a one quart cone top, and a one gallon can.
Prepping Surfaces for Use of Aerosol Color Coat in High Gloss Clear
- For vinyl and plastic, always apply SEM Soap to clean the surface with a grey scruff pad.
- For velour and carpet, clean the surface by using an appropriate carpet or upholstery cleanser.
- Clean vinyl once more with XXX Universal Surface Cleaner or Vinyl Prep.
- Clean plastic again with Plastic & Leather Prep or XXX Universal Surface Cleaner.
- Clean velour and carpet once more with Plastic and Leather Prep.
- To guarantee adhesion on PVC or ABS plastics, SEM offers Sand Free Adhesion Promoter. For TPO, EPDM, PP and other thermoplastics, use Plastic Adhesion Promoter or XXX Adhesion Promoter.
- Always follow the directions for applying each of these products to guarantee quality results.
