Color Coat™ in Landau Black

Color Coat™ is a fade resistant, mixable, long-lasting coating to renew or change the color of most all plastic, carpet, velour, and vinyl. Color Coat Landau Black comes in four different can types: 8 oz cone top, 16 oz cone top, 1 quart cone top, and one gallon. Color Coat is OEM recommended and offered with a number of colors, 3 different clear coats and 1000s of OEM mixing formulas. Renew vehicle interiors and even motorcycle seats with Color Coat. When you desire versatility for refinishing faded or damaged vehicle exteriors or interiors, select Color Coat by SEM!

Considerations for Using Color Coat in Landau Black

  • Even though Color Coat is a coating, as its name suggests, and not a dye, it is not recommended for significantly different color changes.
  • Color Coat dries quickly but should not be subject to abrasion or heavy use until 24 hours after applying.
  • There is no need for thinning Color Coat. It is made prepped to apply.
  • Vinyls can have high amounts of plasticizers. If so, for a smooth finish they require SEM Tac Free.
  • Color Coat Flattener may be used with all Color Coat intermix formulas to guarantee a close match with the original color.

Preparing Substrates for Application with Color Coat in Landau Black

  • For plastic and vinyl, always use SEM Soap to clean the substrate using a grey scruff pad.
  • For velour and carpet, clean the substrate using an appropriate carpet or upholstery cleaner
  • Clean vinyl again with XXX Universal Surface Cleaner or Vinyl Prep.
  • Clean plastic once more with Plastic & Leather Prep or XXX Universal Surface Cleaner.
  • Clean velour and carpet once more with Plastic and Leather Prep.
  • To encourage adhesion on ABS and PVC plastics, SEM offers Sand Free Adhesion Promoter. For PP, TPO, EPDM and other thermoplastics, use Plastic Adhesion Promoter or XXX Adhesion Promoter.

Always follow the manufacturer’s directions for applying each of these products to ensure the best results.
