Use Color Coat™in High Gloss if you need a flexible, fade-resistant, and permanent coating to renew or change the color of plastic, velour, carpet, and vinyl. OEM recommended, Color Coat provides a variety of colors and 3 different clear coats that may also be mixed to provide thousands of OEM color choices in matched formulas. Color Coat in High Gloss comes in four different can types: one gallon, 1 quart cone top, 16 oz cone top, and 8 oz cone top. Color Coat’s outstanding quality lets you revitalize car interiors, and its durability even lets you apply Color Coat to motorcycle seats. Considerations for Applying Color Coat in High Gloss

Even though Color Coat is a coating, as its name suggests, and not a dye, it is not recommended for significantly different color changes.

Color Coat dries quickly but shouldn’t be subjected to scraping or heavy use until twenty-four hours after applying.

There is no requirement to thin Color Coat. It is made ready to apply.

Vinyls can have excessive amounts of plasticizers. If so, for a smooth surface they need SEM Tac Free.

Color Coat Flattener may be used with any and all Color Coat intermix formulas to ensure a close match with the original color.

Prepping Substrates for Use with Color Coat in High Gloss

For vinyl and plastic, always apply SEM Soap to clean the substrate using a grey scruff pad. 

For carpet and velour, clean the surface with an appropriate upholstery or carpet cleaner

Clean vinyl again with XXX Universal Surface Cleaner or Vinyl Prep.

Clean plastic once more with XXX Universal Surface Cleaner or Plastic & Leather Prep.

Clean velour and carpet once more with Plastic and Leather Prep.

To guarantee adhesion on ABS and PVC plastics, SEM offers Sand Free Adhesion Promoter. For PP, TPO, EPDM and other thermoplastics, use Plastic Adhesion Promoter or XXX Adhesion Promoter.
